Homicide suspect arrested in WR
WARNER ROBINS — Officers have made an arrest in a homicide at a residence on Villa North Court.
The Warner Robins Police Department arrested 24-year-old Daniel Maurice Thomas of Warner Robins at about 10 p.m. Monday evening at a residence on the 700 block of Hidden Creek Circle. He is charged with the murder of 55-year-old Elliot Mizell. The U.S. Marshals Southeast regional Fugitive Task Force helped with the arrest.
In a press release, police say Mizell sustained a single fatal gunshot wound when Thomas tried to rob him. Mizell is also charged with felony burglary, felony murder and felony aggravated assault. More charges may also be possible.
Police say Thomas and Mizell knew each other, but they are still investigating the incident.
The release states that officers responded to reports of a possible homicide at about 8:49 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.
