Sacred Heart continues thirty-five-year tradition with annual poetry contest

Sacred Heart Catholic School

held its annual poetry contest emceed by Jackie K. Cooper.  Students from

pre-K to eighth grade participated in memorizing poems from poets such as Ken

Nesbitt, Emily Dickenson, and Edgar Allen Poe. Sacred Heart School retired

teachers Sandra Hall, Jane Gramley, and Shirley La Vecchia judged students on

memorization and how well they articulated their selection.  Sacred Heart

Catholic School has hosted the poetry contest since 1978.
