There are approximately 27 million victims of human trafficking in the world today.
Furthermore, up to 300,000 American children are trafficked for sexual exploitation in the U.S. every year.
Recently, another Middle Georgia hotel joined the fight against human trafficking by becoming a Child Safe Zone. The staff members of Ramada Inn & Conference Center in Perry and Green Derby Restaurant took the time to learn about how to prevent such a tragedy from happening in their business. Front Office Manager Heather Madrigal coordinated staff training to educate hotel and restaurant staff in how to recognize the indicators that a child is being trafficked in order to better prevent the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC).
General Manager Rajesh Mir implemented protocol requiring that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children be notified if an employee notices any indication of child sex trafficking.
The hotel will also display flyers with the National Trafficking Hotline (1-888-373- 7888) to raise awareness of this issue.
