Perry Mayor to run again
The Mayor of Perry has announced that he will be seeking
re-election.
Mayor Jimmy Faircloth, who has served as the city’s mayor
for one term, said he would continue to focus on open communication between the
council and the city’s departments, if he is re-elected.
“I think that’s critical,” he stated concerning the need for
transparency in government.
Faircloth noted that he has tried to keep the council and
the community “constantly informed” with the happenings of the city.
The Mayor stated that the city has some financial issues,
but “the financial health of the city is better today,” which he said was a
“sign of the times.”
He listed several inherited projects that have been
completed during his term as Mayor to which he gave credit to the city’s
departments and council. Those include the Davis Farm Station and the Ball
Street Extension.
Faircloth said qualifying would be in August. The election
will be in November.
