Perry Kiwanis scholar athletes for Feb.

Each month during this school year, the Kiwanis Club recognizes a scholar athlete from Perry High School and Westfield. The students honored excel not only academically, but athletically as well.

Micah Moore is a junior at The Westfield School holds a 4.0 GPA and ranks in the top of his class. Also, he is involved in several clubs including Senior Beta Club, Key Club, and Foreign Language Club. In addition, he serves on student council and is a member of the academic bowl team.

Outside of the classroom he enjoys playing basketball and soccer as well as running cross country. Since his sophomore year, he has started for the varsity basketball team and has been voted to the GISA All-Region soccer team. He is interested in pursuing a career in medicine; however, he has not determined which specialty.

Jamal Bagley is the son of Denise Hickey. He has played football for the Perry Panthers for the past three years. He is a defensive player and he was awarded the Golden Helmet Award for team MVP. Jamal was also named Defensive Player of the Year for the 2012 Panther Football team.

 Jamal also played varsity basketball for the past three years. He is a member of the National Honor Society and FBLA chapter at Perry High.

Jamal’s future plans include attending Darton College in Albany and majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
