Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale takes place this weekend, March 8-9
Special
to the Journal
Georgia’s
longest yard sale, the Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale, will take place March
8-9 along US Highway 341. The 200-plus mile yard sale will link peach-growing
counties in middle Georgia to the beaches of Brunswick and the Golden Isles,
with stops in most communities along the way. Official yard sale hours will be
Friday – Saturday, March 8-9, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., rain or shine.
The Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale
will feature vendors selling everything from antiques and locally crafted items
to traditional yard sale fare. Yard sale sites will range from large
multi-organization sites to individual sites along US Highway 341. A special
“Official Vendor” sign will identify each site. Shoppers are encouraged to
only shop official vendors that display the official vendor sign along Hwy. 341
and at the official group sites. These vendors support this worthwhile event
and make it possible for the Golden Isles Parkway Association to continue
promoting and organizing this growing event each year.
In
Perry, the main group vendor sites will be located in downtown around the Old
Courthouse Square and at the East Gate Shopping Center on Main Street. The
local Official Information Booth will located in front of the New Perry Hotel
at 800 Main St. Maps of participating offsite vendors in Perry as well as other
community yard sale locations will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday
at the official information booth.
Shoppers
who plan to travel to several other communities along Hwy. 341 can also pick up
a “Shop ‘til You Drop” contest entry form at the information booth or
download it at www.peachestothebeaches.com. Shoppers that visit the designated
official information booths in each community along the route can receive a
stamp on their entry form for each stop they make. The more stamps you collect
the better prizes you can qualify to win. Contest entry forms can be picked up
and dropped off at any official community group site’s information booth.
