More voluntary early retirements and separations being offered at RAFB

From Staff Reports

Robins Air Force Base will begin another round of voluntary early retirement and separation incentives on Monday.

According to base officials, this round of incentives is not in relation to sequestration.

On Monday, civilian employees can turn in their applications. Applicants who are selected will have to leave by April 30.

The release states that the base is hoping for 300 applicants to be approved.

“It’s been in the works for some time,” said Debra Singleton, Robins’ director of personnel, in the release.

“This will help the complex ‘right size’ to its budgeted end strength for fiscal 2013,” added Donna Frazier, the complex’s director of business. “But, it’s also an opportunity for us to shape our workforce to meet the requirements of the future.”

Applications will be accepted from General Schedule, Wage Grade, Wage Lead and Wage Supervisor workers in a number of specialties. Those eligible to apply include painters, electricians and engine mechanics.
