Middle Georgia All-Star games Saturday at MS

The Middle Georgia All-Star Classic showcases the best high school basketball players in the Middle Georgia region. The tournament features 40 of the top senior players in an all-star game that includes a girls and boys game as well as a 3-point shoot-out contest and a slam dunk contest. Each game’s Most Valuable Player and each contest winner receive trophies highlighting their accomplishments.
 

The counties are divided into East and West Divisions with players being assigned to their county’s respective division.

The Middle Georgia All-Star Classic will be held on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Macon State College gymnasium at 100 College Station Dr.
 
Jamal Garman of Warner Robins High is the coach for the East boys team. His players, though, are on the West squad: Juvan Shine, Josh King and Carlos Scott. They are joined by Davon Akins of Houston County High. On Garman’s team are Jarius Smith and Christian Kennedy of Northside and Malik Broughton of Veterans.
 

In the girls game, Kerregan Poe-Cochran of Veterans and Asha Stegall of Warner Robins are members of the West team. On the east side is Northside’s Kiara Thompson.
