Matt Arthur Elementary Choral students will sing the national anthem at the Atlanta Braves game on April 5, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. Matt Arthur Elementary has 54 students in chorus, ranging from third to fifth graders.

“The students are very excited about the opportunity to sing,” said Rick Gonzalez, music teacher. “To prepare, they sang the national anthem at two Mercer basketball games last month. It was a great way to experience the excitement and atmosphere of singing in front of a large group of people!”

The students and Gonzalez are pictured during a rehearsal to perform at the game. The Braves will play the Chicago Cubs on April 5.

Matt Arthur’s chorus will also perform in the Large Group Performance Evaluation in Macon on March 29 at 12:30 p.m. Matt Arthur Elementary is located at 2500 Highway 127 in Kathleen. Dr. Ricky Rogers serves as principal.  For more information, please contact Gonzalez at Richard.Gonzalez@hcbe.net
