Kids Yule Love aiding furloughed families
With Christmas just around the corner and furloughs upon base workers, Kids Yule Love is already thinking of ways to help.
Kids Yule Love is an organization that helps families in need. At Christmas time they provide gifts for kids ages 12 and under.
This year, Chris Allen, an organizer of the group, said Kids Yule Love recognizes that employees of Robins Air Force Base who have been furloughed might need some help this Christmas.
Allen said, “If you work at Robins Air Force Base or Bibb County Schools, have been furloughed and need help, Kids Yule Love encourages you to apply for holiday help.”
Allen noted that it is important to the organization to help the people who have been a major supporter for many years.
“The base is the backbone of Warner Robins and they’ve been a large contributor for Kids Yule Love for so many years. The toy donations, the monetary donations come from the base, even the City of Warner Robins. And with that taken out of the economy for those furlough days, you know they’re going to need help this year themselves,” said Allen.
Everyone in need can apply.
For those in Houston County you can visit the Warner Robins Recreation Center on Watson Boulevard. In Bibb County, visit the Bloomfield Recreation Center located off of Rocky Creek Road. If you do not live in those counties and want to apply, you can call 478-741-3032.
