Individuals and businesses recognized at the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce annual meeting

Several awards were presented to individuals and businesses

for their accomplishments of the past year.

Rochelle Arias of Dress You Up Formals received the Heide M.

Hubbard Ambassador of the Year award for being the ambassador that aided the

most to the chamber’s success during the year.

Custom Cable Assemblies, Inc. received the Charles Shaheen

Small Business of the Year Award, which is picked from the small business of

the month winners.

The Edward Bayer Employee of the Year award was given to

Rosemary Giles of Magnolia Park Cemetery and Mausoleum. She was chosen out of

the outstanding employee of the month winners of 2012.

The recipients of the Sherrill Stafford Good Government

Service were Perry’s Mayor Jimmy Faircloth, Centerville’s Mayor John Harley and

Warner Robins’ Mayor Chuck Shaheen.

While introducing the mayors, Houston County Commissioner

Chairman Tommy Stalnaker spoke about the corporation between the three cities

and the county. He presented each mayor with the “tri-cities” keys, which had

the county seal above each of the city’s keys.

Fritz Marggraff, Progressive Consulting Technologies, Inc.,

received the A.C. “Dick” Walden III Chamber Person of the Year award for his

work on the Christmas Parade for several years.

The Charlie L. Jones Memorial Award, which is awarded to a

citizen who has provided superior service to the community, was presented to

chairman Sonny Watson.

Shaw Blackmon, who was the 2012 chairman, passed on the role

to Randy Randall.

“It’s certainly been a real honor serving,” Blackmon said.

“It has been a fun experience.”

When Randall took the podium, he outlined four things the

chamber would continue to do this year. The four items he listed concerned

support of the base, improving small and large businesses in the area,

supporting the school system and universities in the area and reaching out to

Macon and Bibb County.
