The Robins Regional Chamber announces that the 56th Annual Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7. Featured as Grand Marshal this year will be NBC’s Today Show weatherman Al Roker and his wife, ABC News Network correspondent Deborah Roberts. The duo will be featured on the first parade unit, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Houston Road and Watson Boulevard.
Themed “Christmas Around the World,” this year’s parade will spotlight the many aspects of the season from a global perspective. Sponsor for this year’s parade is Flint Energies. As incentive to enhance the competition for those vying for best in show for each category, participants are encouraged to use their imagination with theme-related decoration, creativity, originality and of course, music. Last year the Grand Marshal Award, judged by the Chamber’s Parade Committee, was awarded to West Plumbing for the second year in a row. They will again follow this year’s Grand Marshal in the parade line-up. The parade units will be judged by a select group of business and community members.
The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is one of Georgia’s largest Christmas holiday events and provides a great opportunity for area organizations and businesses to gain valuable exposure and show off their community spirit. Each year thousands of community members attend this much anticipated holiday event where business owners, educational organizations and recreational entities unite in an effort to make the season jolly.
Entries include: vehicles (car, pick-up truck or fire truck only); marching units; creative floats (original, handmade, and/ or trailers and towed vehicles); leased floats (pre-decorated floats obtained from the Chamber); and vehicle clubs. Pricing varies depending on entry.
Late registration deadline for entries is Monday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m. No applications will be accepted afterwards.
