The Georgia Agribusiness Council recently awarded two Mr. William C. “Bill” Baisley “Sumpin Big” Scholarships at the annual Harvest Celebration in Atlanta. Scholarship recipients were Newt Gilman, a student at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, and Samantha Strickland, a senior at Perry High School. Samantha is the daughter of Edmond and Jody Strickland of Perry. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, recommendations, occupational objectives and an essay written by the applicant on what they believe is the greatest challenge facing agriculture today.
