Houston County officials who were elected – in most cases
reelected – this year to serve multiple offices beginning in 2013 were sworn in
on Thursday.
Judge Janice Spires swore in school board members,
commissioners, judges, the district attorney, the court clerk, the coroner and the
sheriff into office.
Sheriff Cullen Talton, who has been the sheriff of Houston
County for approximately 40 years, called the experience humbling and gave
credit to those who work for the Sheriff’s Office.
“What it takes to run a good organization is the people that
work for it,” said Talton.
County Commission Chairman Tommy Stalnaker commended the
three commissioners who were sworn into office for a job well done.
School Superintendent Robin Hines said, “The school system
is one of pride,” before he credited the board members and staff for the
success of the school system.
Those who were sworn in will officially take office in
January. More photos coming soon to our Facebook Page.
