Eleanor Granum Award winner

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Houston-Peach Branch of AAUW recently presented Shirley Boan, center, with its annual Eleanor Granum Award for Community Service. Like the person for whom the award was named, Shirley gives untiringly to numerous volunteer efforts. For two years she spearheaded the development of Family Promise of Greater Houston County, a non-profit program providing shelter, food, and services 24/7 to homeless children and their families. The program opened in May and is now full with a waiting list. Carolyn Schomer, AAUW, is presenting the award with Ronnie Shivers, current FPGHC President; Roger Boan and Nicole Rosser, director of FPGHC.
