The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee hosted the annual Legislative Appreciation reception Thursday at the Go Fish Education Center.  More than 100 guests attended the event which featured a short program of thanks and recognition for Houston County’s delegation.

As a token of appreciation, the Perry Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Chair Joe Brownlee presented each Legislator with a 25th Anniversary Commemorative Art Print by Perry Artist Gloria Ragland.  Brownlee also had some “tongue and cheek” fun with Majority Leader O’Neal by presenting him with a special t-shirt that read “I’m with Kathy” as a way to honor his wife Kathy O’Neal.

Kathy co-founded Perry’s Dogwood Festival and has served the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce in a volunteer capacity for years.

United States Congressman Austin Scott was also in attendance but left before the presentations due other engagements.
