A Knight of Honor

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Sarah Lowe, a fifth grader at Matt Arthur Elementary, receives the Knights of Honor award for showing acts of random leadership.

Being a leader is more than just leading in talk, but being a leader who listens, is compassionate, considerate, and models the action of treating others as they themselves would want to be treated.

The Knights of Honor is a level of achievement in a program called Knights of the Realm as developed by music teacher Richard Gonzalez where all second grade to fifth grade students have the opportunity to serve others and earn character points starting as PAGE, to a SQUIRE, than as a KNIGHT, and finally as a Knight of Honor.

To show that this is a rare award, Sarah is the first and only student to achieve this high award in the three years Gonzalez has offered this program.
