WRPD make arrest after crash involving school bus
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A driver was placed in custody Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle crash involving a unique set of vehicles.
According to the Warner Robins Police Department, at around 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 5, a school bus was traveling southbound and stopped at a red light at the intersection of Moody Road and Russell Parkway. The bus was then rear ended by a white sedan attempting to exit the Walgreens parking lot nearby.
There were no reported injuries on scene, and no children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
The driver of the white sedan was taken into custody for suspected impairment; however, the police department is awaiting toxicology results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
Sgt. Randy Evans provided details to The Journal, reminding the public to be aware of school buses while they are traveling away from schools during your morning commute.
“Use caution,” Evans said. “I know this wasn’t during school time, but be cautious of buses during school time, with the stopping, loading and unloading of students.”
