Houston Healthcare Recognizes Nurses Week May 6-12, 2014
National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 (also known as National Nurses Day) through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale. It is a week to celebrate and honor nurses for their yearlong dedication and commitment to the field. This year’s National Nurses Week puts the spotlight on nurses at the forefront of healthcare transformation with the theme, Nurses Leading the Way.
“Houston Healthcare is proud to recognize nurses within our system as well as nurses in the middle Georgia area,” states Mindy Hartley, Houston Healthcare Chief Nursing Officer/Vice-President of Patient Care Services. “This recognition is the acknowledgement of the contributions and commitments nurses make in providing compassionate evidence-based care for those each serves.” As a way to celebrate and recognize this week, several activities were planned such as a poster design contest, the official proclamation readings from the Cities of Perry and Warner Robins and a Nursing Extravaganza.
