Willis becomes potential MLB draftee following Player of the Year season
After an HHJ All-Area Player of the Year performance and state championship-winning season with Houston County, pitcher Coleman Willis’ stock has ticked up as a Major League Baseball draft prospect for this year’s draft.
In a recent story on baseballprospectjournal.com written by MLB draft analyst Dan Zielinski III, Willis is being considered as a potential top-five-round pick in this year’s draft.
Willis put on more muscle, increased his fastball to 95 mph and had an outstanding senior year to conclude the spring.
Willis is currently committed to play at the University of Georgia and may forego that decision to be drafted straight to the MLB.
We’ll see what path Willis ends up taking this summer as the MLB Draft takes place on July 11-13.
