Westfield tops Tattnall Square, 12-5

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Garrett Brown rounds third base and heads for home Tuesday after a three-run home run in Westfield’s big 12-5 GISA Region 2-AAA win at the Hornet’s Nest against rival Tattnall Square Academy. It was the first meeting between the two since last season’s state championship series won by Tattnall Square in Macon. Not only did Brown go deep for three runs, but so did teammate Wayne O’Neal, who had a total of five RBI. It was an intense night with a controversial fifth inning when the Hornets thought they had a triple play but only had one out. Westfield was leading 8-1 at the time and the Trojans scored three after the hotly-argued play.
