A member of the faculty/staff at The Westfield School notified William Carroll, Head of School, Wednesday evening that they had received a positive test result for COVID-19. The school is legally required to protect the privacy of this individual who shall remain anonymous.

“First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with this individual and their family,” Carroll stated. “We have notified all faculty/staff and all families of our students via email this morning of the potential for exposure because of shared common areas.”

The school campus has been closed since March 18, 2020. School maintenance staff has been regularly disinfecting all of the indoor common areas in accordance with the guidelines published by the CDC.

“We will conduct additional disinfecting of any areas that this individual would and could possibly have had contact,” Carroll stated. “We have no way of knowing when this individual could or would have been contagious nor can we know who could possibly have been exposed. We continue to encourage all faculty, staff, students, and families to continue efforts to comply with the safest and best practices that are being recommended by the CDC and the Georgia Department of Public Health.”
