Westfield first-graders commemorate the first Thanksgiving

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

“The First Thanksgiving” play presented annually by

the first grade classes has been a Westfield School tradition for more than 25

years. The students in Rita Parks and Janna Gray’s class, dressed as Pilgrims

and Indians, celebrate the first Thanksgiving and give thanks to the Lord

through prayer and the recitation of poems, songs, and scripture including

Psalm 100. Highlights of the production include singing “Amazing Grace,”

accompanied by Westfield junior Baylee Culverhouse playing the violin, and “God

Bless the USA” (written by Lee Greenwood). After the production, students and

their families and guests enjoy refreshments.
