According to an official report released from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, March 24 at approximately 1:15 p.m., law enforcement with the Patrol Division was dispatched to Eagle Springs Elementary School at 3591 U.S. Highway 41 in Byron. The call was in response to a complaint that a weapon was being carried on the school property.

The attending officer had previously been posted outside of Thompson Middle School, and upon his arrival at Eagle Springs, he made contact with Eagle Springs Elementary Assistant Principal David Carver. Also involved in the incident—though it is not specified in what manner—was 32-year-old Tierra Dupree of Centerville.

As with all reports that concern juveniles, the names of any underage individuals involved in the investigation were withheld and the type of weapon was not identified.

No injuries were reported or documented as a part of what took place at the school, and no further information regarding the incident itself was provided.
