‘We felt like this was home:’ Amici opens new location in Perry

PERRY – Amici opens its newest location in Perry on Oct.21 and is excited to be a part of the community.

Amici is a family-owned franchise based in Madison, Georgia, which started in 1993. Perry Franchise Owner and Operator Dena Barrows said they are among 12 locations open in the state. 

Barrows said the franchise is not looking to be a nationwide brand, based only in Georgia except for a location in South Carolina.

The restaurant has a full menu and is known for their signature pizza and wings. Amici also offers subs, wraps, pasta dishes, salads, appetizers and desserts. 

It also has a full bar with liquor, wine and a great variety of beer on tap as well as in cans and bottles. Amici also has a brewery and makes its own beer.

“We have a full menu that offers something for everyone. We’re certainly not just a pizza and wings restaurant,” Barrows said.

Barrows shares they are extremely excited about being in Perry. She said the restaurant has been in the works for several years and they are thrilled to finally be open for business. 

“We want to be a place for everybody, for families. We want our dining room to be a living room for people of Perry to come in, eat and hangout at our fireplace or watch ball games at our television here. We have outdoor activities and games for families, cornhole and different things,” she said.

Barrows said Amici wants to be a destination for people to come and have a good time; not just to have something to eat.

She shares they have been overwhelmed by the support they have received since its opening. The support was so huge that they had to close on Sunday due to low inventory and tired staff. 

Barrows said the support being enormous from the beginning has created growing pains, like longer wait times, but they are working hard and adjusting.

“We’re very excited and we’re so grateful for the support that has been shown,” she said

Amici caters to small town communities and wants to take care of local people and their families. The franchise’s motto is, “friends, family and fun” and Perry fit into their mission. 

Barrow described the city as “not too big and not too small.” She said the people in the city are great and they wanted to offer an Amici since there wasn’t any restaurant like it in the city.

“We felt like it would be a great fit. When we first started coming into the community and looking at the possibility of coming here, we were just overwhelmed with the kindness and support of the local government. We just felt like this was home and this is where we wanted to come and its been a great decision,” she said.

Barrow also said Amici wants to be “a living room” for the city and they want people to come to the restaurant, enjoy themselves and relax. She wants to provide customers a great experience and a cozy environment with good food, televisions and activities for people of all ages. 

“A huge thank you to this community for the support. … We had a great week last week and we’re looking forward to an even better week this week,” she said.

Amici is located at 396 Perry Parkway and is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
