Warner Robins recognizes promoted employees, Mayor announces addition to Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Warner Robins acknowledged the members of the police department who received a promotion, and Mayor Patrick announced an addition to the upcoming Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
WARNER ROBINS—The Warner Robins City Council congratulated a few individuals who were promoted at the most recent meeting on Monday.
The employees being promoted included Eric Gossman, Patrick Allen, Marcus Baker and Angela Doersam. All are within the Warner Robins Police Department.
Grossman is being promoted from police lieutenant to police captain, Allen from police sergeant to police lieutenant, Baker from detective to police sergeant and Doersam from property custodian to employment specialist.

According to the agenda, all of those promotions will be effective on Dec. 9.
“Congratulations, and thank you all for what you do,” Mayor LaRhonda Patrick said.
The council then approved the Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant Memorandum of Agreement with the Houston County Board of Commissioners, City of Centerville, City of Perry and the City of Byron.
The agenda read that this agreement was to secure the best price for road improvement projects within the aforesaid jurisdictions.
The council also approved unanimously to authorize Patrick to execute the amendment to the contract for the Solid Waste Disposal Services.
The agenda read that the contract was first entered into on May 2, 2023, between GFL Environmental, Inc., and the City of Warner Robins.
“GFL Environmental, Imc. will provide additional bin trash, bulk trash and yard debris collection,” according to the agenda.
Councilman Derek Mack and Keith Lauritsen shared a few words about this agenda item.
“This right here will help out those folks that are complaining about trash not being picked up as this is going to help us with the painful things we’ve had to endure when it comes to that. So I think this is a good thing for the City of Warner Robins,” Mack said.
“This is a good example of listening to our citizens by you, yourself and others that have made this happen, so we appreciate that, and I know our citizens appreciate it too,” Lauritsen said.
Patrick said this will also help with the blight complaints they deal with.
The council then approved an ordinance for an annexation for a property on Moody Road, south of Woodard Road and situated east of the intersection of Country Lane by Alexis Investments, LLC.
They also approved another ordinance for an annexation of a property located at 227 Wilson Road in Bonaire.
To end the meeting Patrick announced that they have something off of their list, that being the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
“We have the land, the city owns the land, and the memorial is going to finally come to be,” she said. “From my understanding from the Veteran Issues Board is that the Gulf War will also be a part of that memorial, so that’s a big win for each of us and I’m so excited of what’s going to happen.”
