Warner Robins Demons put a ring on it: Debut school’s first ever boys basketball state championship rings
The Warner Robins High School boys basketball team received their 5A state championship rings on Wednesday afternoon. The ceremony, held at the school, commemorated the school’s first state title in boy’s basketball while also putting a nice cap on a record-setting season and strong funraising effort by the Demons basketball booster club.
“Getting these rings is a huge accomplishment,” said Demons head coach and Warner Robins High School alumnus Jamal Garman. “It’s something that has always been a a goal for our program. Having them now let’s us know that it’s possible to get more with hard work and dedication.”
The Demons defeated the Miller Grove High School Wolverines on a game-winning shot by current Gulf Coast State University freshman point guard Jacolbey Owens (see Owens story of starting over in Florida online or in this past weekend sports section).
“For the school it’s the first one ever and that alone is huge,” adds Garman.
