Warner Robins cross country programs claim Region 1-4A runner-up at sectionals
Warner Robins boys and girls cross country made their way up to Jones County for the Region 1-4A sectionals, and they both came away with runner-up spots.

GRAY, Ga. — Warner Robins boys and girls cross country made their way up to Jones County for the Region 1-4A sectionals, and they both came away with runner-up spots.
Senior Mario Diaz finished second in the 5000 meter race with a 17:20.12 time and sophomore Xavier Urbanski finished 6th with a new personal record 18:17.40 time. Both players also received All-Region honors.
For the girls, Ariel Howard (25:15.68, 4th) and Maya Olsen (25:44.98, 5th) made All-Region.
Overall, the Demons and Demonettes combined for 10 top-15 finishes on the day:
Boys:
2nd – Mario Diaz, 17:20.12
6th – Xavier Urbanski, 18:17.40
11th – Lucas Bui, 18:39.74
12th – Thomas Smith, 18:41.88
13th – Tristan Warren, 18:44.28
Girls:
4th – Ariel Howard, 25:15.68
5th – Maya Olsen, 25:44.98
9th – Christ Silverstre Lucas, 27:32.20
10th – Rheanna Thorpe, 27:56.52
14th – Allison Diaz, 29:28.35
The boys program will be taking part in the state championship competition on Friday, Nov. 7 in Carrollton, Ga.
