Warner Robins, Centerville reschedule Christmas parades to this upcoming Saturday

Due to last weekend’s weather, the City of Warner Robins and Centerville rescheduled annual Christmas Parades to Saturday, Dec.13.

HOUSTON COUNTY — The weather outside was certainly frightful last weekend. However, the City of Warner Robins and Centerville did not let it rain on their parade and rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13. 

According to a press release from the City of Warner Robins, the change was made to ensure the safety and comfort of participants, performers and spectators.

The parade will proceed along the originally planned route. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. traveling from Davis Drive at Watson Boulevard to Houston Road. 

The press release says: 

“City officials appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as plans were adjusted due to inclement weather. Additional information, including road closures, parking details, and event-day advisories, will be shared on the City’s official website and social media platforms.”

The city encourages everyone to follow their social media or website to keep up with updates.

In Centerville, the city announced on its social media a rescheduled parade for this upcoming Saturday at 7 p.m. In the social media post, they said the decision had been made in the interest of public safety for all participants, volunteers, and spectators. 

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding as we work to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for our community,” the post said.

Also in a social media post, the City of Perry announced their Christmas parade was cancelled “out of an abundance of caution.”

“The well-being of our parade participants, attendees, and staff remains our top priority.” 

The city encourages everyone to visit their website to see upcoming holiday events throughout the rest of the city.
