Warner Robins basketball looks ahead as they enter GHSA dead week

PERRY — Summer basketball for schools is (unofficially) over with the GHSA dead week next week, and AAU basketball taking precedence in July.
That being said, there’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to the next year of Warner Robins basketball.

Throughout the several summer scrimmages the Demons took part in, there were clear signs that Gabe Jacobs and Justin Hill have taken steps forward as they assume a bigger role this season.
The frequency they both attack the rim has greatly increased, and though they both have their moments camping in the corners or on the wings waiting for an open shot, they initiate more offense than last year.
That’s the most important storyline as we enter the 2024-25 season, but there were also a lot of young players who benefited this summer, according to head coach Jamaal Garman.
“[We] got some younger guys that don’t have much varsity experience. This summer has really helped them a whole lot too. So going into the season, that oughta help push us a little further than what we went last year,” Garman said.
Some names Garman mentioned were Prince Reagan, Tyler Harris, Gavin Williams and Jaylen Rhymes. It’s unclear how much they’ll play considering Garman leaned heavily on his upperclassmen last year, but with Cam Perkins, Cam Flowers and Jay Johnson departing there’s a lot of room for players to step up and earn minutes.
The summer isn’t over for many of these players with AAU basketball right around the corner, but the public will have to wait and see for the 2024-25 Demons.
