Warhawks invade the Eagles nest as they claim victory over Northside

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The Warhawk boys (10-1) and girls (4-2-3) team defeated Northside on their home field Friday Night.

The girl’s game opened up with a hard offensive push by the Warhawks as they got a shot on goal just 3 minutes into the first half just wide of the net by Senior Lily Maddox.

With 29 seconds and 42 seconds left on the clock, number 11 for the Warhawks got her shot at the net but was blocked by the Northside Goalkeeper.

Both teams were stalled at midfield until number 5 for the Warhawks broke through and took her shot only to be blocked by the goalie. 

Just a minute later with 23 minutes left in the first half, the Warhawk persistence was showing as number 13 got her shot off once again to be blocked by the Northside goalkeeper. 

20 minutes left in the game, and Lily Maddox tested her luck again with the net and put the Warhawks up 1-0.

The Lady Warhawks were inching up the field slowly, but were pushed back by the Eagle defense. 

Defensive back Savanna Hall intercepted the ball and crossed it upfield but was converted into a goal which put the Warhawks up 2-0.

16 seconds later with 12:08 left on the clock, Lily Maddox added yet another goal putting the Warhawks up 3-0.

The first half came to a close with Veterans up 3-0.

10 minutes into the second half, Emily Smith shows her offensive side by scoring, increasing the Warhawks’ lead to 4-0.

With 28 minutes left in the game, Sophomore Keziah Thompson made the ball fly into the net increasing the score to 5-0

The girl’s Northside Goalkeeper showed off her defensive side by blocking 2 back to back shot attempts by Skye Paige. 

Keziah Thompson got another opportunity to score as she took a free kick from a foul by Northside and capitalized on it, which increased the Warhawk lead to 6-0 with 11 minutes left in the game.

Lynley McMullen then gets her opportunity and scored with 6 minutes left making the score 7-nil.

The Lady Warhawks wrap up their night with another goal by Sophomore Adelyn Condet closing the game off with an 8-0 win.

The boys game started off with a strong offensive push by Northside as just 42 seconds into the game they scored the first goal of the game.

The Warhawks did not take that goal lightly as they countered 3 minutes later with a goal from number 5 off of a corner kick by team captain Joey Maloney. 

The Warhawks took the upper hand with Carter Morningstar scoring with 22 minutes left in the first half

The Northside Eagles took their turn at revenge as number 18 scored the game equalizer

The first half ended in a tie during a downpour by mother nature.

Ahmed Ibrihim scored his birthday goal with 31 minutes left in the game after a cross by Carter Morningstar, putting the Warhawks up 3-2

Carter Morningstar took his turn at net with 30 minutes left in the game and increased the Warhawk lead to 4-2

The last goal of the game was with 12 minutes left on the clock by Owen Pectol rounding off the game with a 5-2 win.

The Warhawks will play again on Friday March 15 against Thomas County Central.
