Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On Sept. 7, the Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic held a drawing for the fundraising raffle of a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was donated by Jeff Smith Automotive. The winner was Jen’e Smith, who works in accounting at the Houston Healthcare Center. Pictured with Jen’e are her husband, Norman and their two children. Other prizes were also awarded to various winners. The Volunteer Medical Clinic serves those who are employed, but without medical insurance in Houston County. The clinic relies on funding through various grants and donations. Patients are seen by doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals who volunteer their hours. Denise Sharp, executive director, and her staff handle scheduling patients and the on-going activities of the clinic. Call (478) 923-9730 for more information, clinic hours and scheduling.
