VHS Raises Pennies for Patients

Every year Veterans High School raises funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by participating in the Pennies for Patients campaign. Alan Bowers, Veterans High social studies teacher and activity sponsor, said, “We smashed all previous records with a whopping $6,282.42!” Students from Bowers’ third period class raised the most for the fundraiser, bringing in $874.56, the highest in the school.
