WARNER ROBINS — Warner Robins (3-4) lost their second game of the week in clutch time as Veterans’ (4-3) Mouhamadou Mane slammed a put back home with two hands for the eventual 62-60 win on Saturday.

The win boosts Veterans back above .500 as they take the first of two in the season series from the Demons. Warner Robins coach Jamaal Garman was blunt after the loss.

“Lack of experience…that’s just all it is, lack of experience,” Garman said. “We set things up perfectly as a coaching staff, and we just have the guys that haven’t executed right now…We ain’t got much longer to try to figure this thing out before we start region play.”

One of the problems the Demons faced was a lack of consistent offense especially as leading scorer Gavyn Williams entered foul trouble with four minutes to go in the second quarter.

But Garman also noted a lack of intensity from his team until it was too late.

“It feels like we seem to be everybody’s state championship game, and my guys have yet to realize that we got to bring that level of energy [and] intensity,” Garman said. “They got to bring that level every single game and don’t wait until you get down in the game to start trying to play hard.”

With Williams in foul trouble, Tyler Harris had to pick up the offensive slack.

He had all 12 of his points in the second half as Warner Robins worked the ball to him in an attempt to come back after going down early in the fourth.

But it didn’t end up being enough, and Garman said that he needs more from the junior.

“I need more points out of him…Tyler Harris has got to be around 18 points [a night],” Garman said. “He has to be in order for us to be successful because we can’t just rely on Gavyn Williams trying to get all the points. So Tyler has to be the one that’s going to come on and give me at least 16 or 18 points. He brings it on the defensive end, but I need it on the offensive end.”
