On Saturday evening, the Georgia State Patrol, as well as the Centerville Police Department, was on scene at a two-vehicle accident occurring between a 2012 Chevrolet Impala and a 2013 Ford F150.

According to the report by the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of the Impala was entering on to North Houston Lake Road from a private drive at 908 N. Houston Lake Road, and failed to yield, when the F150 came traveling north on N. Houston Lake Road.

The report states that the front of the F150 hit the front driver’s side door of the Malibu, and the F150 came to an “uncontrolled rest” in the southbound lanes of the road, which the report notes was approximately 20 feet north of the area of impact. The Malibu came to an “uncontrolled rest” across the north and southbound lanes. According to the report, the driver of the Malibu could not recall the details of the incident due to impairment.

The report informs that there were three injuries during the incident, and the driver of the Malibu received citations: O.C.G.A 40-6-391 (A)(1) concerning operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, O.C.G.A 40-6-253 concerning consumption of, or the possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the passenger area, and O.C.G.A 40-6-70 concerning the yielding of right of way.
