Two Houston County hoopers selected to GACA All-State Teams

Warner Robins guard Keshun Houser and Houston County forward Jakobe Nelson were named to Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) All-State teams earlier this month.

Houser, a senior, led the Demons to a 5A state championship in 2019 and their seventh straight region championship in 2020. Houser ended his career as one of the toughest perimeter defenders in the county.

Nelson, also a senior, helped lead Houston County get to the second round of the 6A State Tournament. Nelson did a bit of everything for the Bears and finished the year with All-Region honors.

Demons Head Coach, Jamaal Garman, was named Region 1-5A Coach of the Year after finishing with 22-5 and a region championship this season.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they didn’t get a chance to play in the GACA All-State games.

With both Houser and Nelson graduating from high school, both of their respected teams will miss them, but it’ll be interesting watching them play on the next level.
