Two-car accident results in detached trailer

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

An accident occurred in which a trailer was detached from an SUV on Friday. David Sexton was turning his Ford F-150 to the left from the Interstate 75 off ramp on to Perry Parkway and failed to yield. Robert Sexton was also in the vehicle, when the front right corner of the Ford connected with the left side of Rene Perez’s Saturn Vue. Perez was headed east on Perry Parkway and pulling a homemade four-foot-by-eight-foot trailer.

The trailer disconnected from Perez’s vehicle, spreading debris in the road. The official report said that Perez failed to attach the trailer properly and that there were no safety chains.

Sexton was sighted for failure to yield while turning left, while Perez received warnings for his unsecure load and improper tag display. There were no injuries.
