Thursday night crash kills one

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A crash is under investigation after it turned fatal on Thursday night.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, the accident took place around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of N. Houston Road and Greenbriar Road.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 GMC Acadia was stopped in N. Houston’s left turning lane, waiting to turn left on Greenbriar. A 2007 Toyota Avalon was traveling behind and ultimately struck the Acadia in the back.

The driver of the Avalon, identified as 40-year-old Timothy Godfrey of Warner Robins, was taken to Houston Healthcare – Warner Robins, where he succumbed to his injuries an hour later.

The occupants of the Acadia — a 46-year-old woman and a female juvenile — were also transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
