Three softball teams continue run to state final, two on road, Perry at home
The softball season continues Tuesday afternoon
with three county team; Houston County, Perry and Veterans heading into the
GHSA Sweet 16. The Perry Lady Panthers will be at home again courtesy of
winning the Region 2-AAAA title. Both the Houston County Lady Bears and
Veterans Lady Warhawks, playing in 6A and 5A respectively, will be on the
road.
Houston County
The Lady Bears, 26-5 (second in Region 1-6A) will
travel north to Marietta to play the Pope Lady Greyhounds. Houston County swept
their first round series against Heritage-Conyers, 9-1 and 15-1.
Perry
Perry, 24-7 overall, will host the Oconee County
Lady Warriors out of Watkinsville. The Lady Panthers are heading into the Sweet
16 following a sweep of Woodward Academy, 10-2 and 9-0.
Veterans
The Lady Warhawks, 17-9 overall, are on the road at
Carrollton High School on Tuesday night. Veterans swept McIntosh at home last
week, outscoring their guests 24-4.
