Thomas Wesley “Wes” Conner, Jr., 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at his residence. Private Graveside Services will be held for the family in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest with his parents. In order for the family to have time to grieve, a Celebration of Life Service to honor Wes’s memory will be held at a later date. Details of that service will be announced as soon as they are available.

A lifetime resident of Hawkinsville, Wes graduated from Baker Academy in 1982. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern College. Wes was self-employed for over twenty-five years.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Wesley “Buster” Conner, Sr. and Eva Alice Mims Conner; his paternal grandparents, G.W. and Hildred Conner; and his maternal grandparents, P.G. and Pearl Mims.

Survivors include his wife of nearly twenty-nine years, Angela Conner; his daughters, Madison Conner of Cordele, and Mary Wesley Conner of Athens (University of Georgia); his granddaughter, Cali Conner; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynne and Darrell Layfield; his nieces, Allison Layfield White (Sean), Mallory Herrick (Mathew), Morgan Walker (Cody), and Holly Jordan (Randy) and all of their children; his nephews, Sean Schubert and Jackson Schubert; his mother- and father-in-law, Brenda and Pete Stokes; his sister- and brother-in-law, Shannon and Ted Schubert; his uncle and aunt, Royce and Caroline Conner; his aunt, Mary Conner; his cousins, Ken Clark, Barbara Mullis, Leigh Conner (Jamie Smith), Jack Conner (Jennifer), Will Conner, Margaret Hefner (Eric), David Conner (Tina), Richard Conner (Ashley), and Billy Clark, Gary Barfield, Nancy Baldwin, Harold Mims, and Melinda Kretzer, and all of their children; and many other extended family members.
