There Is No Quiet Part

The back room has moved to the penthouse and we all know that has limited access.

We raiding schools and churches now.  We buying elections in plain sight now.  We writing tickets when there is no violation now.  We denying representation to all the residents now.  If these are the things going on for all to see, the walls have come down on the room in back where negotiations take place.

There are some who would say that is transparency, and should be encouraged.  Transparency should also involve truth when it comes to the good of the people.  Transparency works properly when the parties involved actually mean what they promote.  In a democracy the voice of the people is a vote.  Elected officials and leaders either choose to look out for the will of the people or themselves.

The immigration authorities are doing things that bring to mind actions of secret police from other countries that were ran by dictatorships.  Should we normalize raids upon houses of worship and houses of education. Things like that speak to the desire to suppress the freedoms of all people, all the time.

Once again, checks are being written to people for the purpose of influencing an election. In the business sector, bonuses and awards are accepted practice in order to motivate the members of the staff or organization.  In government this type of behavior can lead to people acting on the hope of being the recipient of one of these checks.  That could lead to bribery, illegal contracts, and a host of other things that would destroy this nation as we know it.

As we are getting consumed with the chaos on the national level, let’s take a look at some local chaos.

State troopers ticketed a man during an activity that was supposed to make the public feel safer while driving.  The video evidence embarrassed other agencies and had a negative impact on community trust.

While the city councils, the school board, and the state have elected officials selected on a geographical basis, the county commission contends that it needs to “study” the situation brought to light by the Department of Justice.  As it stands, five people living on the same block can control all county governmental activities.  Going beyond the issue of race, this county has city dwellers, suburban dwellers, rural dwellers and large farming communities that have conflicting needs built in.  In order to address the needs of ALL the segments of this county, geographical posts make the most practical sense.

I guess the back room has moved to the penthouse and we all know that has limited access.
