Theology Matters Conference 2025

Theology Matters. Who Jesus is, and what He accomplished absolutely matters!

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

This weekend, April 4th-6th, our church will be hosting our annual weekend Bible conference entitled “Theology Matters.” For the last several years we have chosen different theological themes to consider, and have assigned guest speakers to address these subjects. This year, our focus is on “The Person and Work of Christ.” It is our aim to learn more about what Jesus did, is doing, and will do in behalf of His people. It would be impossible to fully state how important these truths are for every person to know and believe. Contrary to the relativistic culture in which we live, where words and truths are considered fluid and flexible, we maintain – Theology Matters. Who Jesus is, and what He accomplished absolutely matters!

While such a conference may seem unimportant and unnecessary to many in our world, any clear-minded Christian should readily concede our nation sorely needs a renewed interest in theology. Sadly, we live in a time of national history when God, the Bible, and Christianity hold less and less value in the minds and lives of everyday Americans. Our society wrongly believes we no longer need God. Which is why a conference on Christocentric theology is so vastly important.

We certainly need God. We need to learn all we can about God. Webster defines theology as: “the science of God and divine things; or the science which teaches the existence, character and attributes of God, his laws and government, the doctrines we are to believe, and the duties we are to practice.” Simply stated, theology is the study of all-things God. Theology is the study of who God is, what His word teaches, and how we can honor Him with our lives. I honestly cannot think of anything more needful in America right now than reacquainting ourselves with our Creator. Mature-minded believers should insist, our country needs to turn back to God, seek His face and discover anew who He is and what He rightly demands of us. And that most certainly includes who Jesus is, and what He has done.

A major tenant of the Christian faith is that eternal life can only be found by grace alone, through faith alone, in the finished work of Christ alone. To be in right relationship with God, you must: know the facts of the Gospel. Which includes, who Jesus truly is and what He did for fallen men. You must acknowledge these things to be true as reliably recorded in the Word of God. And you must believe that what Jesus did, He did for you – because you are a sinner in need of redemption. This is what we intend to consider more fully this weekend.

Our goal in this conference is to help everyone better understand the wonderful Person and Work of Jesus of Nazareth in reconciling unholy sinners to Holy God. Every family and community will be affected, either positively or negatively, by how Bible doctrine is handled. When and where theology is belittled or dismissed as unimportant; doctrinal indifference, Biblical illiteracy and spiritual immaturity are inevitable.

Friends, theology matters. It matters deeply. Whether you believe this or not, every single person on the planet will stand before God one day to give account. The Christian faith isn’t some fairy-tale, make-believe story created to help simpletons cope with life. Not so. There is a God. And this God can be known, worshipped, and adored through the redemptive work of Jesus of Nazareth. Join us for our conference and learn anew just how wonderful Christ is, and worthy of our praise!

Services begin this Friday evening, April 04 at 7:00 PM. Then again, Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. And Sunday at 10:00 AM. Lunch will be provided by our church both Saturday and Sunday. Come worship with us as talented preachers from several states will proclaim the magnificent person and work of Christ. Learn more @ mhbcperry.org

We warmly invite you to join us. If you cannot come, but you are a believer, please pray God will be glorified, God’s people sanctified, and there will be a renewed conviction among Christians that, Theology Matters.
