The Honor Flight
While Buildings, Roadways, Parks, and Bridges are distinctly in place from coast to coast that Remembers our heroes — our Nation’s Capital plays host to “the best of the rest”, paying tribute to many who gave their all. Honor Flight (National) has embraced and nurtured a Program to ensure that our Veterans (first of all those of Major conflicts — and those who are failing in years, be privileged to view The Designs of Honor in Washington, by flying them on a round trip flight. This journey is especially important to those who often returned from Battlegrounds far away, with little or no recognition of the extensive price paid. The Statues and Emblems of World War 2, of Korea, of Vietnam — including campaigns before, during, and after such skirmish — stand as grim reminders of the reasons before us — and the reality of why we survive. The Honor Flight also serves as a vivid reminder to those on the periphery of why we marvel at the Flag, and its meaning. A vision of true Freedom comes into focus!
Chief Master Sergeant Roger Jennings, USAF Retired, Serves as President of the Middle Georgia Honor Flight; (without compensation); and diligently gives a maximum effort to the Mission. From the East coast (and Middle America), this is a one day stint, from the West, the time is extended, with Motel. There exists no charge to the Veteran, for anything, including food. As a Veteran from both Korea and Vietnam, I have been on this Flight — and I can (without reservation) recommend that qualified nominees make the necessary arrangements to make this unforgettable journey. You may contact Middle Georgia Honor Flight (or Roger Jennings) at MiddleGAHonorflight@gmail.com; or call 478-397-6508, for pertinent Information. Jennings, and his staff members will be more than happy to share flight dates, credentials, and arrangements. This is a MUST TAKE trip for WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veterans!
