The Demonettes win by 35 in blowout victory over Ola
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The Demonettes, 14-1, racked up another victory Friday as they dismantled Ola at home.
Coming out guns blazing, the Demonettes scored 27 points in the first quarter, and they took a 27-9 lead into the second quarter. Tasia Agee and Korveanna Slaughter hit from beyond the arc, and they hit several baskets as well, as the Demonettes went on a 12-point run.
In the second quarter, Slaughter scored six points, and the Demonettes were up by 22 at the half, 42-20. Verkesia Fuller chipped in with four free throws. The Demonettes were in complete control of the game, and they did not let up — they scored 26 points in the second half. Jada Morgan and Agee accounted for several baskets, and Slaughter hit another three-pointer in the fourth quarter.
Warner Robins pretty much was able to do what they wanted as they appeared to hit shots from the outside and inside at will on their way to the 68-33 victory.
“This week coming up we got a little downtime, and we need to rest up,” Coach Rebecca White said, after the game. “We played a lot of basketball in December, more than other people have. We’ve been through the region one time, and we got to go through it a second time. The second time is not going to be as easy, so we got our work cut out for us, but we’re ready to work.”
Warner Robins will face off against Locust Grove Friday in a region matchup, and then they will face archrival Northside on Saturday. As Coach White stated, the Demonettes still have some work, but they should cruise into the postseason if they keep up the current pace.
