‘Terribly tragic’ crash in WR leads to multiple fatalities
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A single car accident on Watson Boulevard left two deceased on Tuesday morning, an event Chief John Wagner called “terribly tragic.”
On March 8th, around 5 a.m., the Warner Robins Police Department, Fire Department, and Houston Medical EMS were sent to Watson Boulevard and Austin Avenue.
According to preliminary investigations, a red Chevrolet Sonic was traveling eastbound down Watson Boulevard at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete pole, causing the car to catch fire near Austin Avenue.
After the fire was extinguished, two people were found deceased inside the car. The Houston County Coroner was brought to the scene.
As of Tuesday, Warner Robins Traffic Division is investigating the crash and trying to identify the occupants. Anyone with information related to this crash is encouraged to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME, or WRPD Sgt. Tim Pippio at (478) 293-1048.
