Teen dies, three injured after wall collapse on Robins Air Force Base

A 14-year-old boy was killed and three others are injured after a wall collapsed at Heritage Pool on Robins Air Force Base.

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE – A 14- year-old boy was killed after a wall collapsed on him and others at Heritage Pool on Robins Air Force Base after 3 p.m. Monday afternoon. 

Houston County Coroner James Williams said the victim was transported by ambulance to Houston Healthcare – Warner Robins, but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. 

The collapsed wall also injured three others. One was treated on scene and released while the other two were transported to local hospitals. The severity of their injuries are unknown.

Williams said the Officer of Special Investigations on Robins Air Force Base is currently conducting an investigation and there is no further information at this time. 

“Our hearts are broken for these individuals and their families. We remain committed to supporting our Airmen and their loved ones as we navigate this difficult time for Team Robins,” said Col. Deedrick Reese, Installation and 78th Air Base Wing commander. “We want to thank the first responders – including lifeguards, installation and community personnel – who responded to this tragic incident with compassion and

professionalism.”

According to a media release, Robins Air Force Base will not be releasing the names of the individuals involved because they are minors. Chaplin support will be available for the individuals, families and for those who were on scene. 

Further details will not be released until the investigation is complete.
