Team Robins Hiring Event slated for April 30th
The Team Robins Hiring Event hopes to fill a wide variety of jobs available at Robins Air Force Base.

WARNER ROBINS—Are you interested in a fulfilling career at Robins Air Force Base? The installation will make it straightforward to apply at the Team Robins Hiring Event on April 30 at the Museum of Aviation, designed to encourage and motivate potential job seekers.
At the event, many of the 55 mission partners on base will recruit for various fields, from engineering to computer science, information technology, human resources, financial management, transportation and security.
“There’s a lot of diverse career fields and opportunities that we have on the installation. Robins can be thought of as a small city,” Robert Hubbs, 78th Air Base Wing Deputy Mission Support Group director, said.
Hubbs said many positions will hire on the spot.
“We’re using every hiring authority that is given to us to be able to bring people in, to be a part of Team Robins, to be hired. That ranges from our direct hire authorities, which allows us, in many cases, to be able to hire on the spot. About 50 to 60 of those positions will be available at this hiring event. So you come in, we look at the resume, you do an interview, they can offer you a job,” he said.
The base currently has about 850 vacant positions. Through the event, they also want to educate job seekers about upcoming opportunities on USA Jobs and build a network of potential employees they can notify if a suitable position becomes available.
“We also use what we determined as the traditional method. It’s how most hiring is done across the federal government and specifically here at Robins. That is where you would actually go in, load your resume into the USA Jobs website, apply for a position there, fill out a questionnaire and that information would be sent to a hiring official,” Hubbs said.
Once the information is sent, the official will narrow down applicants, conduct interviews and offer jobs, Hubbs explained.
Hubbs also said the base hopes to demystify the hiring process. Those who are unsure how to navigate USA Jobs can get a kickstart building their federal resume and navigating the site in the museum’s Scott Auditorium in the Eagle Building. These will take place from 8:30 to 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Hubbs said the overall event will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate a variety of schedules. He also encourages potential job seekers to bring multiple copies of their resumes and be prepared to share their unique life stories.
“They don’t have to worry that they have to be standing at the gate or over in the Anchor Glass parking lot at eight o’clock in the morning. We will have people the whole day that they can come to,” he said.
Hubbs said benefits to choosing a career at Robins Air Force Base include a dynamic work environment, competitive pay, 401k, pension and insurance. He said the base also offers the chance to serve close to home for a welcoming community, which he added had been the most welcoming for him to date.
“To our Wing Commander Col. [Deedrick] Reese, this is one of his top four lines of effort: fostering community and support in the community. At Team Robins, all members who work at Robins are a part of and love the community we live in every day. It’s important to us to give back to the community and to be a part of that community,” he said.
Hubbs said Robins is striving to build a strong civilian workforce, which he said was the backbone and foundation of the base’s mission. In turn, the base will give civilians a chance to improve, reach their full potential and give back to the community.
“You are part of a team — whether you wear a suit and tie or whether you wear a uniform, that is responsible every day for ensuring the protection of the United States,” he said.
