The Bears (23-6) beat Kennesaw Mountain (17-12) 64-43 on Saturday after a fourth-quarter rally turned a single-digit deficit into 20 for the Mustangs just three minutes into the period.
The Greyhounds (17-12) bared their teeth in a close first-half effort, but Houston County (22-6) only allowed 17 points in the second half to get out of round one with a 67-48 win against Pope on Wednesday.
It’s well documented that Northside (16-10) has a turnover problem, and while it usually hampers their efforts to a great degree, it’s never looked as bad as the first half of their Region 2-5A play-in game against Houston County (0-24).

The region schedule has begun for Houston County (0-13, 0-1 Region 2-5A) but they’re still looking for their first victory of the season after a 67-9 loss to Northside (11-3, 2-0 Region) at home on Saturday.
