Suspect arrested after chase, search in Warner Robins, police said

The suspect was wanted for felony crimes out of Alabama, police said.

WARNER ROBINS – Police say a man is in custody after a multi-agency chase in Warner Robins Thursday afternoon.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, around 4 p.m., officers assisted an outside agency with a traffic stop on a silver BMW sedan.

The driver and suspect, possibly named Billy Joe Jessie, 47, was wanted out of Alabama for felony sexual offenses against a minor. 

The suspect fled the scene, leading to a chase, and abandoned his vehicle on Westcliff Circle, where it rolled into the woods. This led to a search by the WRPD, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, and U.S. Marshals Task Force.

The police department confirmed with the Journal around 6:30 p.m. Jessie was arrested on Sarah Drive.
