Sukey Hart Chapter, The Assembly at Warner Robins to host Veterans Appreciation Breakfast
The Sukey Hart Chapter, NSDAR will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast at The Assembly at Warner Robins on Saturday Nov.9.

WARNER ROBINS – The Sukey Hart Chapter, NSDAR will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast at The Assembly at Warner Robins on Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The event will be honoring veterans of all ages in the community. The Sukey Hart chapter is helping sponsor the breakfast along with the church.
DAR Regent Cynthia Davis said the event will include a quartet and a speaker. The chapter also invited the Middle Georgia Honor Flight and the Patriot Guard to be a part of the event.
Davis said this is the first time they will be hosting the Veterans Breakfast. She hopes this will turn into an annual event for the church and community.
Davis also shared the city of Warner Robins is hosting a similar event on Veterans Day and the chapter wanted to do something similar. She said the Daughters of the American Revolution tries to honor veterans in as many ways as possible through various events.
Davis hopes this will be another option for Veterans who may not be able to attend the city’s event.
“It was just a way for us to reach out maybe to a different group, because sometimes you get some people that can show up on Saturday and sometimes, they can show up on Veterans Day,” she said. “We wanted to try and reach out to those who might not be able to go the event the city of Warner Robins is holding and come to ours. Or if they could go to both, it’s fine with us, too, because we want to honor them as much as we can.”
Recently, the church formed small groups, and a veteran, David Wilson, started one of those groups. Davis felt it would be a good outreach to partner with the small group.
Davis then spoke with Wilson to come up with ideas. She said a lot of events are happening on Veterans Day weekend and they thought breakfast would be the easiest way to accommodate people.
Davis also received inspiration from another church in Perry who hosted a similar event.
“It was just one of those things that popped into my mind that I thought would be manageable, easy and that they will come out for,” she said.
Davis also said they want to serve them, honor them but not take up much time. She hopes, in the future, it can become a longer event and open to more people.
“I am hoping that they will see that even though there may have been a time period when people seemed ungrateful for their service that there are many of us, not just an older generation but the younger generation also, that are truly patriotic and believe and honor those who served and honoring those who are still serving,” she said.
Davis believes serving the country is one of the greatest things a person can do because without their service, people would not have the freedoms they cherish today.
“To honor them for that service, is to let them know what they did was important. That serving is important because we’re free. We’re free because of them and I think that’s the most important thing. We’re free to make our own decisions, we’re free to voice our opinions, we’re free to live the way that we want to live. Freedom is priceless,” she said.
Davis also expressed her gratitude to The Assembly at Warner Robins for allowing them to host the event. She said they love reaching out to the community and partnering with the chapter.
Davis shares they are a small group of ladies, but they strive to reach out to their community, make it a better place and honor their veterans.
The Veterans Appreciation Breakfast will be on Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Assembly at Warner Robins, located at 6040 Watson Boulevard.
Those interested must register to attend the breakfast due to limited seating. For those who want to register, contact Cynthia Davis at (478) 957-4890.
